Electrician’s Apprentice

 

Department: Electric

Reports to: Electrician

SUMMARY:

The electrician’s apprentice works very closely with the electrician and must be able to follow complex directions easily from their instructors. They should also be able to communicate clearly any problems they come across during their daily work assignments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITYS

  • Installing electrical equipment, including ceiling fans, receptacles, switches and lighting fixtures.
  • Must be able to run and tie off wire correctly in newly constructed and remodeled homes according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
  • The apprentice works closely with the electrician to learn and refine skills relating to design, installation, repair, etc

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have certification from accredited electrician trade school
  2. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel
  3. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath benches and in close quarters performing work
  4. Must be highly safety conscious

Estimator

Summary: Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

·       Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction supervision to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues 

·       Analyze blueprints, construction drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates 

·       Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors 

·       Confer with engineers, designers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates 

·       Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work

·        Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project 

·       Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops 

·       Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures 

·       Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction 

·       Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to construct or sub-contract components

·       Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractor

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter and able to multi task
  • Experience is strategic planning, estimating & analyzing information

Journeyman Electrician

 

Department: Electric

Reports to: Manager

SUMMARY:

Conducts, maintains, tests, repairs and oversees all electric/electronic, mechanical services based on client needs both residential and commercial. Electricians apply their knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles to determine the malfunction and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITYS

  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment including but not limited to recessed can lighting, service upgrades, new construction, remodels, rewiring, pool lights, timers & motors, spas, interior & exterior lighting, phone & cable, breaker repair, and more.
  • Must be able to run and tie off wire correctly in newly constructed and remodeled homes according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
  • Installs, starts up and shits down equipment in accordance with company and safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as directed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

 

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. 3-5 years as an electrician and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas
  2. Must have certification from accredited trade school
  3. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel
  4. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath benches and in close quarters performing work
  5. Must be highly safety conscious
  6. Must be licensed to drive a motor vehicle
